RIVERFRONT MARKETING GROUP CELEBRATES THE 20TH ANNUAL GO 4TH ON THE RIVER DUELING BARGES FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA!

New Orleans, LA – The Riverfront Marketing Group invites you to celebrate the 4th of July down by the riverside at the 20th annual Go 4th on the River Dueling Barges Fireworks Extravaganza. This year’s event is presented by Chevron, Entergy, Zito Companies, and Versabar, with support from ExperienceNewOrleans.com, Magic 101.9 and WWL AM, FM and .com, and WWL TV Channel 4. Selected as a TOP 20 EVENT by the Southeast Tourism Society, the 2010 celebration on the historic New Orleans riverfront will feature family activities beginning at 4:00 p.m. with performances by the Navy Band New Orleans—the Brass Quintet, the Crescent City Krewe Rock Band, the Full Steam Brass Band, and the Ceremonial Band—and culminating with the nationally acclaimed dueling barges fireworks display on the Mighty Mississippi at 9 p.m.
Ranked by the American Pyrotechnics Association as one of the “TOP FIVE MUST-SEE FIREWORKS DISPLAYS IN THE U.S.,” Go 4th on the River offers a day the whole family can enjoy riverboat rides, shopping, dining, and exploring great attractions along the New Orleans Riverfront.
Bring your radios to the river as Magic 101.9 and WWL AM 870 and FM 105.3 simulcast the dynamic fireworks show choreographed to stirring patriotic music and heard in 38 states in the U.S.
Ample parking is available at Harrah’s, the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, the French Market, the Garage at Canal Place, and the JAX parking lots.
Go 4th on the River is a community project produced by the Riverfront Marketing Group, a nonprofit formed to produce the annual 4th of July celebration along New Orleans’ historic riverfront. RMG members include the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, the French Market District, Hard Rock Cafe, Harrah’s New Orleans, JAX Brewery Millhouse, New Orleans Paddlewheels, Riverwalk Marketplace, Steamboat NATCHEZ, and the Westin New Orleans Canal Place.
