Joint’s Jumpin’, REO Speedwagon, Gino Vannelli, New Orleans’ Own Chocolate Milk and Comedy Group “Living, Laughing, Loving…Y’all” to Headline at Harrah’s

NEW ORLEANS – Oct. 1, 2008 – Harrah's is pleased to present “Living, Laughing, Loving...Y'all” featuring New Orleans' own comedy squad, Jodi Borrello, Amanda Hebert and Jason Kirkpatrick. Catch the show at Harrah’s Theatre, Saturday, Nov. 1, at 8 p.m.

“Living, Laughing, Loving...Y'all” is a comedic production filled with interactive skits, original music and stand up comedy, all of which will have you laughing from start to finish. This production opens with a New Orleans sound and closes with a traditional New Orleans second line, while the middle is filled with laughter and unique hilarious perspectives that everyone can relate to.

Harrah’s New Orleans is also proud to welcome back “Joint’s Jumpin’,” a musical celebration of classic New Orleans rhythm and blues from the 1950’s and 1960’s, after a popular run in July. Shows take place in Harrah’s Theatre, Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 6 – 9, with shows at 8 p.m. nightly.

An ensemble of talented performers will deliver New Orleans R&B hits that topped the charts nationally and internationally by Huey "Piano" Smith, Lloyd Price, Fats Domino, Irma Thomas, Clarence "Frogman" Henry, Professor Longhair, Aaron Neville and more.

WWOZ calls Joint’s Jumpin’ “a rousing, high energy, get-out-of-your-seat revue of all the music we love.” Barry Smith with the Louisiana Music Factory states “I expected great things and I wasn’t disappointed. The show was solid; the band was tight, the singers had incredible harmonies; I thought the energy was really good. I felt really lucky to get to hear the show.”

Harrah’s New Orleans also presents REO Speedwagon live on Fulton Square, Saturday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m.

The American rock band peaked in the early ‘80s with the release of the group’s most successful commercial album “Hi Infidelity.” The album spawned four hit singles including “Keep on Loving You,” “In Your Letter,” “Don’t Let Him Go” and “Take it on the Run.”

After three sold-out shows last year, Harrah’s New Orleans welcomes Gino Vannelli back to Harrah’s Theatre, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 – 22, with shows at 8 p.m. nightly.

Vannelli is known for writing and producing sophisticated jazz-inflected pop. He produced ten “Billboard” pop chart hits. Seven of these charted Adult Contemporary and three crossed over to the R&B charts. Several of those timeless classics are included on his most recent album, “These Are the Days.”

Vannelli’s hits include “I Just Wanna Stop,” “Living Inside Myself,” “People Gotta Move,” “Black Cars,” “Hurts to Be in Love” and “Brother to Brother.”

New Orleans’ own Chocolate Milk will take the stage at Harrah’s Theatre, Friday, Nov. 28, at 9 p.m.

In the early ‘70s, Chocolate Milk made a name for itself in New Orleans’ underground as the undisputed kings of funk and soul. The band became known for "Action Speaks Louder Than Words," and other hit songs including “Groove City,” “Girl Callin’” and “Say Won't Cha.” The band was also known for their versatility in musical styles, later adding elements of disco in their hit "Blue Jeans."

In the ‘80s, the band broke up to pursue individual interests. The release of their greatest hits collection “Ice Cold Funk: The Greatest Grooves of Chocolate Milk,” resulted in the reforming of the band with all of its original members.

Tickets for all shows are on sale now and may be purchased in person at Harrah’s box office, by calling 504-533-6600 or online at You must be at least 21 to enter the casino and attend shows at Harrah’s Theatre.
