MASK-N-MAMBO COSTUME CONTEST AT JEFFERSON PARISH MARDI GRAS
Free costume contest will be held at Jefferson Parish Toasting Stand In what has quickly become a popular family Mardi Gras Day tradition in Jefferson Parish, the 3rd Annual Mask-N-Mambo Costume Contest will be held, in coordination with Jefferson Parish and Family Gras, at 9 a.m. on February 24. The Mask-N-Mambo Costume Contest will take place on the stage across from the Jefferson Parish Toasting Stand at Causeway and Veterans. The contest is free and open to all ages. The Mask-N-Mambo Costume Contest was created to help bring back the family tradition of dressing up or “masking” for Mardi Gras Day. Contestants are judged and prizes are awarded to the winners of each of four categories – Individual, Group, Family and Children (ages 0-12). This year’s grand prize is a Mardi Gras reviewing stand for 50 guests, for one day during the 2010 Carnival Season. Contestants can register on site on Mardi Gras morning beginning at 8 a.m. or can request a free registration form via email, cgourgeot@nocci.com.
