Why: Jefferson Dollars for Scholars, 2010 National Dollars for Scholars Chapter of the Year, expands access to educational opportunities for Jefferson Parish Public School students through scholarships and academic support. Since 1993, Jefferson Dollars for Scholars has impacted over 4,500 students, awarding $11 million in direct scholarship assistance (college and summer enrichment) and helping students earn over $3 million in additional TOPS dollars through ACT test preparation classes.
