Harrison Avenue Marketplace Announces
"Swing Into Spring DATE: Wednesday, April 8th, 2009 TIME:5:00 PM to 8:00 PM LOCATION: 801 Harrison Avenue in Lakeview MORE: Pets and People are Welcome! LIVE BAND: The Joe Krown Orchestra WEB SITE: www.harrisonavenuemarketplace.org The event begins with the Joe Krown Orchestra playing a 1940's big-band swing sound. Foxtrot, Lindy Hop, and Jitterbug dancing is encouraged. Then at 6:00 PM, the Beacon of Hope will present our honorees with pins and a special gift during a ceremony of appreciation. Our great food vendors are back including the return of neighborhood favorites Lago Bistro, Ralph's on the Park, Chop's Bistro and Martini Bar, and Robert Fresh Market. Artisans abound with great glassworks from Lizano's, talented student art from St. Paul's Episcopal School, and hand-carved pieces from Paul Troyano's Living Furniture Custom Woodworks. The LASPCA returns with more adorable, affectionate, and adoptable canine creatures. Stop by the Lakeview Veterinary Hospital booth for great pet care offerings. Become a member of the Lakeview Civic Improvement Association and support their extraordinary efforts to replant Lakeview's neutral grounds, parks, and playgrounds. Volunteer for a committee as the LCIA pulls the recovery wagon together with the Beacon of Hope. Visit the VIP tent generously sponsored by the non-profit Build Now who works with residents to overcome obstacles keeping you from rebuilding on your lot in Lakeview and all over the Greater New Orleans area.
