The Go Red For Women Movement works to educate the fact that more women die of heart disease than all forms of cancer combined. Unfortunately, heart disease is often silent, hidden and misunderstood. That’s why Go Red For Women invites New Orleanians to participate in the 10th Annual National Wear Red Day to make ending heart disease a reality. In addition to National Wear Red Day, Friday, February 22 is also the American Heart Association’s annual Go Red for Women Luncheon held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The luncheon is part of the Go Red For Women movement that encourages local women to take charge of their heart health by making it a top priority so they can live stronger, longer lives. Guests can participate in free health screenings & silent auction from 10:00-11:30AM. At 11:30 a.m., the ticketed heart-healthy luncheon program begins with the stories of local women affected personally by heart disease. Sponsored by: Peoples Health, Nola.com/ Times Picayune, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Paris Parker, Tulane Medical Center and WWL-TV. |
